Bullocks` Bistro in Yellowknife

Fish was amazing, huge portion cooked perfectly. Service was quick and friendly. Must visit and take some time to read all the messages and artefacts left behind over the years by visitors from around the world.

Good food great service a little pricey.

This restaurant is an absolute MUST when visiting YK. Bring something to pin to the wall, and your appetite. Love Love LOVE!

Great atmosphere!! Excellent fish!! I normally do not eat fish but their's were fantastic!! We came back a second day for dinner!! It was a little pricey, about $37USD each. Would definitely come back again.

Apparently unbeknownst to me they are reservation based, and we walked in and promptly got seated! What luck. Food was AMAZING and was the first thing on the checklist for YK was to have local fish. What a great first impression of the city!.

Best fish and chips I have ever had. The selection of fish is all super fresh and the pantries glaze is sweet. This is a must eat for any tourist.

We had dinner here, in the our wedding day! We chosen this place because was one of the most recommended restaurant in town! The menu it isn’t very various, but all food that their proposed was really inviting! We got two bison steak and 1 Artic Char and was all really good, just the sauce on top was too reach.....for me! The atmosphere was.....”different”, not for me, friendly staff and good quality/price!I think this is the best restaurant in Yellowknife!!

We went there during the Christmas season, therefore we have to wait almost 40mins for a seat. But it is worth. The pan fry and deep fry white fish are delicious with their special sauce on the top. Price is not cheap, but as a small town like this, everything is expensive.

Only 2 hours wait for Bullocks Bistro, famous for wild caught Fishes & Bison Steak. Only 1 Chef, 1 waitress, 1 bartender, lots wall Graffiti, messages & a Taiwan flag. Food are tasty. Portions are generous. Service is good. It is the place for Bison Steak & Freshly caught Fish & Chips

It started with soft and cinnamony homemade bread. Then we had the most delicious arctic char! Fun interior ambiance, walls covered in notes and bills from around the work.

Absolutely delicious food, we had the fried battered fish of the day. It was a cool place, nice atmosphere, very alternative feel. Close to bush pilots point look out for the Aurora's

Authentic, homemade and super yummy!

We were hesitating whether to try Bullock's Bistro as we heard someone having to wait for 3 hours to get a seat the day prior. It was holiday season (after Christmas) hence it's crowded. We are lucky that we for a table within 30 mins. They served bread immediately and we were given menu immediately. The portion is huge and the fishes are fresh. Service is very prompt too. Highly recommended!

The whitefish combo is great. I was hoping for something a bit sweet to finish off. Overall a great experience.

Cool place to visit when in YK. Bring a buisness card or some foreign currency or anything cool to staple to the wall!

Long wait to get a table at Bullock's. Tried to reserve a table for 6pm by calling early in the afternoon, but was told I'll have to walk in and take my chances. Since there's a queue waiting outside in the cold often, maybe management should add more tables or a warm waiting area. Anyway, Bullocks has a fun, laid back atmosphere. It feels more like a diner than a proper restaurant. We sat at the kitchen table with our food being cooked right in front of us. Understandably, it smells like frying oil and grease. It takes a lot of time to get your food on account of only one person frying the fish. Had the Arctic char and Great Slave cod. These were probably the best tasting fish and chips I've ever had. Prices are high but understandable given the cachet of Bullock's and how much fish you get for your money.

Highly recommended by locals as well as myself. Got buffalo ribeye steak and fish chowder, which were both great! Staffs were very friendly. Make sure reserve in advance to avoid waiting in the minus degree temperature!

Great portion sizes and very fresh. Place was busy but I thought it was worth the wait. The bread is served with every order and baked fresh daily. Prices are on the higher side but good occasionally

Great place and great food.The whitefish was amazing, the sauce on the whitefish was super good. The salad was fresh and the place had a cool ambiance. It was busy but if you can get a seat it is worth it.

Pan fried inconnu was phenomenal. Has surpassed cod as my go-to!

Very good fishes! We got deep fried cog and pan fried pickerel. The pickerel is definitely my recommendation. It is just so delicious. The cog is very big and fresh!I loved the salad dress too.Girls there were all very nice and welcoming!We were there around 2pm on a Tuesday and there was no waiting line.

Best fish and chips ever!! I realise that it sounds cliché, and way to many people throw the word "best" around, but honestly and truly, this was the best I've ever had.

Very friendly and cool place. For sure check out when you at Yellowknife. Put your name or pics on the wall so you can came back years later and see then again. The steak was ok but very special with their home made garlic sauce. deep fried fish is? amazing.

Pricing on par with some of the higher end restaurants in town. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and is constantly packed with people. The food was quite good (but not overly spectacular) and the portion sizes are more than enough for one person.

A must see place in Yellowknife amazing food. Fantastic portions and a terrific atmosphere. You have to stop here at least once.

I’ve had the good fortune to travel to all provinces and 2 out of 3 territories. I tell everyone... best fish and chips in Canada. Done and done. (Of course I haven’t been to the Yukon so maybe?)

Bullock’s reputation precedes it as the best fish joint in town and it is well deserved. Always book to be on the safe side, it will prevent disappointment or waiting in line in the cold. I was extremely lucky to score a seat at the bar without a reservation. In doing so I literally scored the best seat in the house to watch Kim work her magic. While I got the low down on her fry technique, try as I might to get her to reveal the secret recipes I had no joy- looks like I’m going to have to come back if I ever want to taste this delectable delight again!

I'm from St. John's, Newfoundland, and grew up eating the best fish and chips on the planet (IMHO). I have tried fish and chips in other cities, and it wasn't close to what I ate back in St. John's.This is the only spot outside Newfoundland where the fish and chips is amazing. Large portions, delicious. A little on the pricey side, but the portions are big enough you could split with your significant other (or whole family for that matter).Also a very unique atmosphere in that the walls and ceilings are covered in authographs, graffiti, and momentos.

looking for fresh fish dishes? just come here Cod, Trout are awesome. Even the portion size of the dish looks large, my wife and I are ut all. YUMMM ;) P.S. if you come more than 2 persons, you should make a reservation in advance.

This place is awesome. Huge platters of local food. The decor is very unique with the signatures of past visitors plastering everying. We were lucky to get a table as it was very full the whole night. If I'm back in town I'm coming back

Great food. Great options. Great experience. Lots of fun in here and awesome food... ohh I said that already. Must seriously be amazing food then I guess.
